Funeral Service for Alfred L. Wollesen, 85, Lake View, will be Tuesday, March 12, at 10:30 a.m., at the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View, with Pastor H.W. Kramer officiating. Burial will be in the Wall Lake Cemetery, Wall Lake.

Farber and Otteman Funeral Homes, Lake View, are in charge of arrangements.

Alfred Lavern Wollesen died Friday, March 8, 2002 at Blackhawk Life Care Center, Lake View, following a short illness.

Alfred was born February 2, 1917 in Clinton Township, Sac County, the son of Edward and Elizabeth (Mauer) Wollesen. He attended country schools in Wall Lake.

Alfred lived in the Lake View, and Wall Lake area most of his life. Alfred married Carrie Hedberg on December 20, 1941, in Maryville, Missouri. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Alfred was a self employed trucker, farmer, and corn shelling operator. He owned Wollesen Trucking for over 50 years.

Alfred was a member of the Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Lake View and the Eilert Auen American Legion Post No. 133 of Lake View.

His family includes two sons and their wives, Donald and Suezette of St. Cloud, Florida and Charles and Pam of Lake View; five grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Lucille Cleveland and husband, William of Lake View, and Mildred McCurrin of Marshalltown.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carrie Ann on March 17, 1994; and three brothers, Everett, Edward, and LaVern.
