Funeral services for Viola (Voss) Zobel, 83, of Odebolt, were held Saturday, March 2, at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt, with burial in the Odebolt Cemetery.
Viola died Wednesday, February 27, at her home in Odebolt.
Viola was born September 13, 1918, in Carnarvon, the daughter of Hannah Voss. In 1924, she moved to Lake View and attended school.
Viola was baptized and confirmed in June of 1937 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lake View. Viola married Edgar Zobel on September 1, 1940 in Arthur. They lived on a farm East of Ida Grove for 52 years. Edgar died on November 27, 1992. Viola moved into Odebolt in 1993.
Viola was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Odebolt and the Ladies Aid.
Viola enjoyed quilting and crocheting; she did quilting for church and family. She also enjoyed playing cards and gardening.
Her family includes three sons, Merrill of Ida Grove, Robert and his wife Cheryl of Sioux City and Allen and his wife Chrystal of Exira; daughter Joann and her husband Leo Segovia of Grand Forks, North Dakota; eleven grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; sister Lucille Reyer of Fredericksburg; and a brother, Lawrence Nelson of Lake View.
Viola was preceded in death by her mother, husband, a grandson, Paul Scott, and a great-grandson, Daryl Lee.
