Maurine Schuirring

Funeral Services were held for Maurine Hayden Schuirring, 88, Sac City, Thursday, March 7, at 2 p.m. at the United Methodist Church in Sac City with the Rev. Dean McPherson officiating. Burial will be in the Cedar Cemetery, Sac City.

Farber and Otteman Funeral Home, Sac City, is in charge of arrangements.

Maurine died March 4, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home, Wall Lake, following a lengthy illness.

Maurine was born May 7, 1913 in Sac City, the daughter of Clyde W. and Ethel R. (Hayden) Highland. She attended Sac City Schools and business school in Fort Dodge. On November 11, 1942 she married Elmer W. Schuirring at the Methodist Church in Sac City. They were life-long residents of rural Sac City. Elmer died January 28, 2002.

Maurine was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sac City and worked as a secretary at the Agricultural Adjustment Administration Office in Sac City. She was also a member of The Good Times Club.

Her family includes a son Greg Schuirring and his wife Sandy, Madison, WI.; a brother Norman Highland and his wife Alberta, Sac City; a sister Dorothy Limbrecht, Waukon; and two grandchildren, Amanda and Brett Schuirring, Madison, WI.

Preceding Maurine in death was her husband, Elmer, her parents and a brother Don Highland.
