Funeral Services for David R. Bruscher, 63, of Arthur and formerly of Sac City were held February 27, at the First Christian Church in Sac City, with Reverend Ronald Johnson officiating.
Burial was in Galva Cemetery, Galva. Farber and Otteman Funeral Homes in Sac City, were in charge of arrangements.
David passed away on Saturday, February 23, at Loring Hospital in Sac City.
David R. was born January 6, 1939 in LeMars, the son of Emil A. and Gladys (Hodge) Druscher. He attended school in Sioux City.
On June 1, 1957 he married Melva Martin in Sioux City. He married Barbara Johnson Flogstad October 12, 1994 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
David moved from Storm Lake in March 1960 to work at the Gambles Store. He made the decision to change his career later that year. After 37 years of law enforcement service in the Sac City Police Department, he retired as Captain in January of 1998 due to health reasons. David was a member of the Sac County Peace Officers Association and Sac City Volunteer Fire Department.
His family includes his wife Barbara; three sons: David and wife Nancy, Aurora, Co., Dan and wife Sue, Auburn, and Dean and wife Mary, Des Moines; a daughter, Deb Wood and Bill Kennebeck, Cherokee; three stepdaughters: Diane Jones, Schuyler, NE., Sue Flogstad, Arthur and Michelle Bush and husband Terrance, Waterloo; two step-sons Rod Flogstad and wife Audrey of Holstein, and Larry Flogstad and Nancy, Ida Grove; eight grandchildren: Chris, Andy, Kim, Brandon, Caitlynn, Rebekah, Ashley, and Colton; ten step-grandchildren: Kevin, Jamie, Nikki, Nate, Jamie, Gabe, Brad, Dakota, Searra and Jasmyn; two step-great grandchildren: Cameron and Morgan; two brothers: Emil, Jr. and wife Marilyn, Sioux Falls, SD., and Dennis and wife Geri, Stone Park, WI.
David was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Ray.
