Children's picture book seminar to be held at Iowa Central March 23

Author Peter Davidson will present a seminar entitled "How to Write A Children's Picture Book" at the Storm Lake center of Iowa Central Community College on Sat., March 23, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The seminar is for anyone who is interested in writing and/or illustrating children's picture books for potential publication.

Topics that will be presented include Definition of a Children's Picture Book, Developing an Idea, Plotting the Book, Writing the Book, Illustrating the Book, Typing the Manuscript, Copyrighting Your Work, Locating Potential Agents and Publishers, Marketing Your Work and Contract Terms.

Peter Davidson has authored 22 books, including eight children's picture books, and has had many other types of work published. He has been published by McGraw-Hill Book Company, Perigee/Putnam Publishers, Haworth Press and others.

Mr. Davidson has presented more than 400 writer's seminars, has appeared on over 80 radio and television programs worldwide, and has received several awards, including the prestigious Leavey Award.

The seminar will be March 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the AEA conference room located at 824 Flindt Drive. Everyone is welcome to take part. Cost for the seminar is $42 including all materials. To register for the seminar call Iowa Central Community College at 732-2991.
