A Storm Lake man was treated at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center for a stab wound this weekend, and another was charged with willful injury.
Shortly before midnight Saturday, the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the emergency room at BVRMC as a man entered the hospital with a stab wound.
Officers learned that a 33-year-old male victim had come into the ER with a knife injury to the neck.
Investigating the incident, police determined that the victim and the suspect live together in a residence located at 430 Seneca St., Apt. 2.
According to police, the victim and suspect got into an argument in their residence over the suspect going into the victim's bedroom. During the argument the suspect allegedly grabbed a kitchen knife and stabbed the victim in the neck. The victim as able to get out of the residence and find a ride to BVRMC.
Police responded to the residence located at 430 Seneca Street and located the suspect, identified as Osel David Pena, 22, of Storm Lake. Police took Pena into custody without further incident.
Storm Lake Police have charged Pena with Willful Injury, a class C felony, and Going Armed with Intent, a class D felony. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on $22,750 cash bond.
Storm Lake Police officers recovered the weapon used in the assault outside of the residence.
The victim was treated and released the next morning from the medical center.
