IMS asks citizens to nominate physicians for community service recognition award

Monday, February 25, 2002

The Iowa Medical Society (IMS) is asking Iowans to nominate physicians for their 2002 Physician Community Service Award which recognizes outstanding service by Iowa physicians in their local communities.

All eligible physicians must be residents of Iowa, and M.D. or D.O., and the physician's service to the community should be uncompensated.

Previous winners of the award are not eligible. See the IMS web site at www.iowamedical.org for a listing of past winners and a nomination form.

To nominate a Storm Lake area physician, write to the Iowa Medical Society and provide:

* The physicians's name

* The physician's home or office address

* Your name, address and phone number

* Why you think the physician deserves this award. What has this physician done for your community?

Nomination forms can be obtained by calling Lucinda Stephenson at 515-223-1401 or 800-747-3070, visiting the IMS website at www.iowa medical.org or mailing/faxing a letter to:
