While state universities are getting hit hard by Iowa's budget problems, the private institution of Buena Vista University has not seen too many problems associated with state budget cuts.
"It's too soon to tell, but right at this moment it's not evident," said Richard Ridgway, director of University Communications, regarding state budget cuts.
Yesterday Gov. Tom Vilsack warned against another across-the-board cut, saying that Iowa's higher education system is operating with less money today than it had two years ago. At the state universities, tuition has increased 10 percent this year and is set to grow 19 percent next year.
