Local education briefs from arond the area.

Local students named to Iowa Central honor rolls

The following Buena Vista County students received a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the fall semester at Iowa Central Community College. They have been named to the President's Honors list.

The 4.0 students were Jenny Ahlers, Tanya Davis, Jimmy Khounlo, Jill Obrecht and Cullen Vredenburg, all of Storm Lake, Sally Bonnesen of Aurelia, Brad Fritz of Galva, Heather Jensen of Ida Grove, Drew Kollasch of Newell, Jason Smith of Albert City, Sally Thompson of Alta and Vimalbhai Bhakta, now of Fort Dodge.

Students making the Dean's List with a grade point average of 3.50 to 3.99 included Brandon Berkland, Pete Bodholt, Ann Braddock, Jennie Davis, Jesus Gonzalez, Jaclyn Heide, Michelle Johnson, Eric Klatt, Jessica Kruse, Steven O'Bannon and Matt Patten, all of Storm Lake.

In addition, Wendy Dines, Jennifer Ebert and Nathan Wiese of Alta, Michelle Maske of Newell, Jorge Cortes of Lakeside, Kyle Hansen of Linn Grove, Lori Jessen of Sioux Rapids, Julie Kelly of Aurelia and Keith Stoeber of Rembrandt were also named to the Dean's List with GPAs of 3.50 to 3.99.

Strout named to Dean's List at South Dakota St.

Jennifer Strout of Storm Lake has been named to the fall Dean's List of the College of General Studies and Outreach Programs at South Dakota State University in Brookings, S.D.

Jennifer is the daughter of Jon and Patti McKenna.
