Honey Kissed Pizza owner to open family entertainment restaurant in SL this summer

Monday, February 18, 2002

Skeeball, foosball and a "Chuck-E-Cheese atmosphere" will soon join the restaurant scene in Storm Lake, as the longtime owner of Honey Kissed Pizza is integrating his pizzeria into a new business that he hopes will become a place for the entire family to come to and enjoy.

Randy Harrington, the owner of Honey Kissed, will move his takeout pizza business just down the road from his current location at 116 West Milwaukee Avenue to a new commercial duplex located in the 300 block of West Milwaukee, where he will open Milwaukee Pizza & Pub, a new restaurant which will feature an expanded menu, a host of games and a bar area in the rear of the building.

Harrington said the new business, whose slogan will be "Chicken, Hot Dogs and Fun," will be able to fill a vacuum in the family entertainment restaurant niche in Storm Lake, and is extremely excited about the prospect of opening up the new store in about 90 days.

"It's really a dream come true for me," Harrington said. "It's something I've been trying to do for 40 years, and I think it's going to be a great thing to have for the residents of Storm Lake and for all of northwest Iowa."

The menu at the new restaurant will feature Honey Kissed Pizza, but will also have other items such as chicken and hot dogs on the menu, and will also have alcoholic beverages such as frosty mug beer and wine coolers available in its sports bar section for adults.

Harrington said his restaurant will try to have a "Chuck-E-Cheese atmosphere," as it will have a host of games and activities for customers of all ages, including two skeeball machines, a foosball table, a pool table, video games and darts, and will also have a juke box located in the middle of the business.

"There's really nothing like this in town," Harrington said. "I would say the atmosphere will be like a bowling alley without the bowling. It's going to be a casual and fun atmosphere, and I think that's going to make it a great place for people to come."

Harrington said his biggest goal of opening Milwaukee Pizza & Pub will be to make sure that people have a good time while eating good food at his restaurant.

"We're going to guarantee that people will have fun here," Harrington said. "We're going to work very hard to make sure that happens for everyone who comes in."
