CEDAR RAPIDS - Coe College shot 54 percent to outscore Buena Vista 44-36 in the second half en route to a 67-65 victory in an Iowa Conference game on Saturday night at Cedar Rapids.
Buena Vista held the Kohawks to just 34 percent shooting in the first half in taking a 29-23 halftime lead.
The Beavers made 41 percent of their shots in the second half, but the Kohawks hit 54 percent.
For the game, Buena Vista made 26 of 65 field goals for 40 percent, including 4 of 11 from 3-point range. Coe was 26 of 60 for 43 percent, including 3 of 8 from 3-point range.
Amy Meggers led Buena Vista with 19 points, nine rebounds and four assists. Jennifer Lange had 13 points and six rebounds, while Kelli Taylor contributed 12 points, seven rebounds, three assists and two steals.
Allison Schultz added nine points, six rebounds and two steals for the Beavers, now 5-8 in the league and 9-11 overall. Jessica Jensen charted four assists and two steals.
Buena Vista outrebounded Coe 40-33 in the game. Coe converted 12 of 19 free throws compared to 9 of 15 for Buena Vista.
Buena Vista committed 25 turnovers, but forced 22 turnovers on the Kohawks.
Buena Vista plays host to first place Wartburg tonight before entertaining Loras and Dubuque this weekend.
