Teens complete emergency training

Tuesday, February 5, 2002

Saturday, 26 January, local Civil Air Patrol Cadets Patrick Kelly and Paul Smith joined CAP members in Ames for training in CAP's Emergency Services missions.

Cadets Kelly and Smith learned the basics of CAP mission administration and management including the incident command system.

They are currently working on completing the General John F. Curry achievement program. Completion of the Curry will make Cadets Kelly and Smith eligible to work Civil Air Patrol emergency missions, fly on CAP airplanes, and attend special state and national CAP activities.

Locally, CAP members meet Monday nights in Storm Lake. CAP volunteers provide Aerospace Education both to members and the community, Emergency Services including air and ground search services and disaster relief, and Cadet Programs to give young people experiences and training to help them become the leaders of the future. More information is available at CAP's web site: www.capnhq.gov, or by sending an email to local leaders at SSgtKempCAP@aol.com.
