STORM LAKE - No need to worry about a letdown after an emotional upset win.
Buena Vista clicked on all cylinders offensively as it followed up an upset over first place Simpson with a 92-67 thrashing of Central on Saturday night at Siebens Center.
Buena Vista made 39 of 72 field goals in the game for 54 percent, scored 47 points in the first half and 45 in the second half.
The Beavers shot 58 percent in the first half to outscore the Dutch 47-33. They hit 51 percent in the second half to outscore Central 45-33.
Central, on the other hand, was 21 of 64 from the field for 33 percent.
Kelli Taylor scored 15 points to lead four players in double figures as the Beavers improved to 4-7 in the league and 8-10 overall. Amy Meggers scored 13, Allison Schultz 12 and Marsha Rupert 10.
Jessica Jensen tossed in nine points and Jennifer Lange eight.
Buena Vista outrebounded Central 57-30. Rupert led the charge with 11 rebounds. Lange and Audrey Montag each had seven and Meggers added five.
Taylor handed out seven assists and Jensen had three.
Central lost the game despite owning a big free-throw advantage. The Dutch converted 20 of 31 to the Beavers' 10 of 16.
Buena Vista plays at Cornell and Coe this Friday and Saturday.
