Springers teams place third at meet

The Storm Lake Springers gymnastics teams traveled to Jackson, Minn., on Sunday.

The Blue team took third in the upper division with a score of 121.65. The Pink team took third in the lower division with a score of 89.2.

Lower Division

In the novice age 8-and-under, Iwa Chanthavong placed first on vault, second in all-around and fourth on floor. Alex Furst placed fourth on bars and fifth on vault. Emily Mohr placed third on vault. Tori Peck placed first on bars and all-around, third on beam and floor and fourth on vault. Katie Turnquist placed second on bars, fourth on beam, and sixth on vault and in all-around.

In the novice age 9 division, Grace Christensen placed first on vault and sixth on bars. Katelyn Goodchild placed second on bars, and third in all-around and beam. Megan Thompson placed third on bars, fifth on vault and sixth in all-around. Courtney Van Haaften placed fifth on bars.

Desiree Thatcher placed fifth on bars in children's age 10.

Upper Division

In the novice division, Ashley Anderson placed first on floor, second in all-around and fourth on beam and bars. Jordan Henningsen placed first on bars, fourth in all-around and fifth on floor. Nicole Martin placed third on bars, fourth on vault and sixth in all-around. Lesa Turnquist placed fifth on beam and all-around, sixth on bars.

Priscilla Otto placed sixth on bars in the juniors division. In the seniors division, Megan Benz placed third on beam, fifth on floor and sixth in all-around. Ali Brashears placed first on beam, second on vault and all-around, third on floor and fourth on bars.

The next home meet is Sunday, Feb. 3.
