Funeral Services for Lucy A. Oberreuter, 86, Mapleton, Iowa, were held Monday, January 21 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Danbury with Reverend Schreiber and Reverend Jim Tigges officiating. Interment was in Danbury Catholic Cemetery, Danbury.

Lucy passed away on January 17, 2002.

Lucy Ann Oberreuter was born March 8, 1915, on the family farm near Mapleton. She grew up and was educated in the area and graduated from St. Patrick's Academy in Danbury. She furthered her education in attending Normal Training for teachers in Cedar Falls. She then taught classes in country school.

On June 15, 1937, Lucy was united in marriage to Al Oberreuter in Danbury. They moved onto their farm northwest of Danbury where they lived, farmed, and raised their four daughters. Al died December 29, 1993.

She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, St. Mary's Rosary Society, and the Diocesan Council of Catholic Woman.

Those survivors left to cherish Lucy's memory include four daughters and their husbands, Jean and Charles Neuroth of Lemars, Linda and Gerald Stauber of Newell, Carol and Jerry Ravnsborg of Bennington, NE.; and Ann and Ron Thiel of Blair, NE.; six grandchildren, Tracy Stauber Carlson, Tony Stauber, Amy Ravnsborg Magstadt, B.J. Ravnsborg, Adam Thiel, and Sally Thiel Heasty; four great grandchildren; and one sister and her husband, Ruth and Earl Martin of Green Bay Wis.; along with numerous other relatives, neighbors, and friends.

Along with her husband, Lucy was preceded in death by her parents, one great granddaughter, five brothers - Raymond, Vincent, John, Norman, and Lornie Brenner - and one sister, Bernice Boyle.
