Thursday, January 24, 2002

On Friday, February 1, Citizens First National Bank will host its Century of Service Celebration on Feb. 1, a daylong open house and gift giveaway event which will take place at its main location at East Fifth and Lake Avenue in Storm Lake.

The open house kicks off a year-long celebration that includes special product offerings and corporate citizenship projects, including a gift of playground equipment to the City of Storm Lake that will be made this spring.

The Feb. 1 itinerary includes gifts for the first 250 guests, hourly drawings for $100 in Storm Lake Bucks, historical memorabilia, refreshments and Citizens coupons worth $175 of savings on bank services for customers.

"For five generations, our family has been privileged to serve the Storm Lake Area," bank president George Schaller said. "We're proud to be the first bank in our area to offer express drive-up, ATM and online banking, and today hundreds of our customers enjoy web-based services, including electronic bill pay."

Citizens has had a distinguished history. In 1934, George J. Schaller, one of the bank's founders, served as Governor and President of the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago. Harry W. Schaller then became the youngest bank president in the country.

Citizens currently provides over $84 million in loans. Their Trust Department manages assets in excess of $117 million and the 1st Club serving mature bankers has attracted 1,257 customers.
