Art is what you make of it

Monday, January 21, 2002

Buena Vista University student Torrey Proctor has offered a unique art show in the BVY Forum gallery this month, with pop art pieces ranging from a sculpture of walking feet to a large image of a skateboarder in mid-flight.

Tow pieces, "Commercial Autobiography" consists of a working television set cast in green spray paint and completely covered in advertising stickers. A tiny sculpture makes use of an ammo cartridge from a bb gun, bits of metal, the arms from a child's discarded doll, and the wings of a monarch butterfly that the artist found after it was apparently killed by a bird.
