Funeral Services for Linda Marie Peterson, 54, of Alta, were held Saturday, January 12, at the Hope Evangelical Free Church, Storm Lake with Pastor Jim Hofman and Pastor Randal Anderson officiating.
Burial was in Elk Township Cemetery, Alta.
A Memorial fund has been established. Barker Funeral Home in Alta was in charge of arrangements.
Linda was born March 13, 1947, the daughter of Lester and Ina (Claypool) Schultz in LeMars, Iowa. She attended school at Merrill and LeMars. Her family moved to Laurens in 1963 and she graduated from Laurens High School in 1965. She attended college in Westmar for two years and graduated from Iowa State University in Ames in 1969.
She married Clayton Peterson on March 7, 1971 in rural Alta. The couple farmed north of Alta until retiring in 1992. They spent their winters in Casa Grande, Arizona. Linda was an active member of the Hope Evangelical Free Church in Storm Lake. She had also been a member of the Busy Bee Club.
Survivors include her husband, Clayton of Alta; son David of Sioux City; her parents, Lester and Ina Schultz of Laurens; four sisters, Margaret and Tom Hughes of Sisters, Oregon, Edith and Mike Kirsch of Burnsville, Minnesota, Wanda Schultz of Des Moines, and Barbara Halligan of Laurens; her mother-in-law, Emma of Aurelia; one sister-in-law, Lorraine and Gene Ernst of Victoria, Minnesota; and one brother-in-law, Myron and Estelle Peterson of Lake Havasu City, Arizona.
Preceding in death were her father-in-law, Clarence Peterson and an infant daughter.
