George Edward Sundblad was born July 25, 1918, the youngest of seven children to Gustav and Techla Josephine (Anderson) Sundblad near Larrabee. The family later moved to a farm near Sioux Rapids where George received his high school education, and graduated from Sioux Rapids High School in 1936. He was united in marriage to June Marie Bergling on December 16, 1939, at Boone. The couple farmed near Sioux Rapids until retiring in 1981 when they moved into Sioux Rapids.
Following his retirement, George enjoyed spending time in his workshop creating special wood projects for family and friends. Time spent with family was one of the highlights of George's life.
