Alliant Energy's Iowa utilities to become Interstate Power and Light Company
Alliant Energy officials have announced that the holding company's two Iowa utilities, IES Utilities Inc. (IES) and Interstate Power Co. (IPC), have become one legal entity under the name of Interstate Power and Light Company (IPL).
The combination of the two Iowa utilities is one of the final touches of the Alliant Energy merger from 1998.
Customers of IES Utilities and Interstate Power Co. will see a new bill format during the second quarter of 2002 to reflect the new name of Alliant Energy's Iowa utility.
Omni Photo receives Bronze Sales Award
Omni Photo/Radio Shack, owned and operated by Craig and Nancy Sargent of Storm Lake, was presented Radio Shack's Bronze Sales Award for 2000.
The Bronze Sales Award is presented to a Radio Shack Associate store based on its volume of purchases of Radio Shack products.
Radio Shack presents sales awards in August each year at the Dealer/Franchise Showcase meetings.
The annual Showcase was held this year in Reno, Nev.
"We know that Craig and Nancy Sargent worked hard for this award," said Len Clegg, Senior Division Vice President of RadioShack Dealers / Franchises, said. "We appreciate Omni Photo's/Radio Shack's fine representation of Radio Shack in Storm Lake."
Radio Shack has more than 7,100 locations nationwide.
Local companies to be showcased at 2002 Iowa Pork Congress
Norm's Livestock of Storm Lake, Sioux Automation Center of Sioux Center, Sleezer Fertility Center of Aurelia, Port-A-Hut, Inc. of Storm Lake and Ag-Personnel Unlimited Inc. of Alta will all be featured at exhibits at the Iowa Pork Congress, which will be held at the Marriot Hotel and Veterans Memorial Auditorium in Des Moines Jan. 22 to 24.
The exposition, which is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year, will feature exhibitors from around the United States and Canada, and will include a variety of seminars regarding pork products, the Master Pork Producer Banquet and the coronation of the Iowa Pork Queen.
The event will begin with the Iowa Pork Producers Association's annual meeting on Jan. 22 and will end at 4 p.m. on Jan. 24.
