"My wish is for the people of Storm Lake to get together and get a community center project started for the kids." - Pat Fisher, Community Education

"My resolution would be to work for peace, whether it be in the community of Storm Lake or elsewhere in the world." - Duane Queen, pastor, Lakeside Presbyterian Church

"My resolution for Storm Lake is that the town continues to make diversity a real positive influence on the community." - Pat Mehrhoff, LSW, Vista Counseling Center

"One of mine would be to look up old friends and get together with them again." - Marilyn Monson, Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce

"I want to help kids further their education during the next year." - Bonnie Engel, Gingerbread House teacher

"I resolve to see the new church building project through to the end and make it a welcoming place for members of the Storm Lake community this year." - Ken Bell, pastor, Storm Lake United Methodist Church

"Being a teacher, it would be having more patience with my students." - Janet McKenna, third-grade teacher at West Elementary

"I'm resolving not to have a New Year's resolution this year," Jackie Wede, co-property manager, Wilshire Apartments

"I wish that the world could get straightened out over the next year, because it's a mess in a lot of places right now." - David Schmidt, Circulation Manager, Storm Lake Pilot-Tribune

"My firmest resolution is to not quit my job this year, especially since I'm working for myself now." - Chuck Offenburger, Storm Lake resident

"Probably the number one resolution I have would be to quit procrastinating and get my desk here at work cleaned off." - Buzz Paterson, KAYL

"I'd like to work on having less piles of stuff on my floor in my office." - Grace Ivey, Storm Lake resident

"My personal resolution is to clean off my desk, and my resolution as a teacher would be to teach harder and help my students learn more." - Salli Nichols, Storm Lake High School journalism teacher

"I wish for my family to stay healthy during the next year." - Nancy Julich, Administrative Assistant, Buena Vista University

"Each year I try to develop a new friendship with someone, and I'll try to do that again this year." - Janice Worthan, American Family Insurance agent

"I'd personally like to try to lose some weight, and my goal for the city is for the new water plant expansion and renovation project and the well field and transmission line to the plant to be completed in the upcoming year." - John Call, Storm Lake City Administrator
