City audit finds revenue, expenses down

Schroer and Associates, P.C., 120 South Sixth Street, Council Bluffs, today released an audit report on the City of Storm Lake.

Schroer and Associates, P.C., reported that the City's revenue totaled $9,075,561 for the year ended June 30, 2001, a 1.5 percent decrease from 2000. The revenues included $2,063,576 in property tax, $128,309 in local option sales tax, $980,688 from the state, $511,833 from the federal government, and $555,620 in interest on investments.

Expenditures/expenses for the year totaled $8,980,698, and 8.9 percent decrease from the prior year, which included $1,936,317 for community protection, $1,449,910 for human development, $4,120,386 for home and community environment, $372,733 for policy and administration, $337,706 for nonprogram and $763,592 for depreciation.

A copy of the audit report is available for review in the office of the Auditor of State and the City Clerk's office.
