LETTER TO THE EDITOR - Cancer Smart shop honors

Thursday, December 6, 2001

It was truly an honor to be recognized for our efforts in providing community awareness regarding Cancer at the Relay for Life event. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of the various parties involved in making this educational promotion so successful. Like any truly worthy endeavor, it takes the efforts and collaboration of many talented individuals to bring something like the "Smart Shop" to completion.

The "Smart Shop" is certainly a labor of love, providing community awareness regarding cancer. The oncology staff, along with the American Cancer Society, BVRMC Radiology and Lab Departments, Nutrition Services, Physical Therapy Department Center for Women's Health, and the Trimark Physicians' Staff, as well as members of the BVRMC Auxiliary and Sports Rehab and Therapy Specialist staff, all worked together to provide the "Smart Shop." As is often the case with community events, it is teamwork that makes the event successful. I thank you again for the public recognition of our award, and would like to thank all those involved in this very successful event.
