BV swimmers win 6 events

STORM LAKE - Sara Becker finished first in two events to lead Buena Vista in a women's swimming dual meet against Simpson on Friday night. Simpson won the dual 110-81.

Becker posted a time of 25.47 seconds in the 50 freestyle and a 57.52 clocking in the 100 freestyle. Amelia Anders won the 100 butterfly with a time of 1 minute, 13.68 seconds, while Kelsey Stribe took the 100 backstroke in a time of 1:07.95.

Two Buena Vista relay teams also placed first. The 200 medley tandem of Stribe, Amy Brown, Anders and Becker posted a time of 2:02.75. The 200 freestyle unit of Anders, Mandy Peter, Stribe and Becker were clocked in 1:52.81.

Brown placed second in the 100 breast stroke in a time of 1:17.09.

Stribe finished third in the 200 freestyle in 2:26.64, as did Jaime Soczek in the 200 individual medley in 3:14.54.

Placing fourth were Anders in the 200 freestyle in 2:28.44, Peter in the 50 freestyle in 29.33 seconds, the 100 freestyle in 1:05.75 and the 100 breast stroke in 1:27.71, Liza Radke in the 100 backstroke in 1:20.39, and the 200 freestyle relay team of Radke, Trisha Chamberlain, Rachel Bossow and Soczek in a time of 2:13.16.
