G. Irene Love, age 85, of Omaha, Nebraska, formerly of Sac City, died Nov. 20, at Infinia Nursing Home in Omaha.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 26, at First Christian Church in Sac City with Reverend Sharla Hulsey officiating.
Burial was in the Cedar Cemetery, Sac City.
G. Irene Presley was born March 7, 1916 in Sac City, the daughter of Henry Gilford Presley and Ethel Lane (Byers) Presley. She did not finish 10th grade, but later tested into Fort Dodge Junior College and then graduated with a double major in English and Spanish from Buena Vista in Storm Lake.
On April 9, 1932, she was married to Lloyd Maynard Love at Sac City. The couple was married for more than 64 years. Lloyd died on Sept. 4, 1996.
Her family includes her children, Della Wilhelm and her husband Max, Minneapolis, MN, Ellie Sandvig and her husband, Richard, Omaha, NE, Russell H. Love and his wife, Carmen, Mountain Home, ID, Linda M. Henson and her husband, Darrell, Omaha, NE and Ken Love and his wife, Nancy, Denison. Also surviving are 16 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren; her siblings, Mae Arends, Sac City, Joyce and Ben Grodahl, Spirit Lake, Herbert Presley, Sac City, Duane "Dutch" and Lynetta Presley, Garden Grove, CA and Marvin "Scott" and Linda Presley, Oklahoma City, OK.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, two sisters, Grace Presley and Anna Flink, three brothers, Samuel, Robert and Elbert and by two great grandchildren, Danielle Conger and Edwin Tamez.
