On Saturday, Oct. 20, Donald Altena, of 507 Russell Street, reported vandalism to his garage windows. Damage to the windows is estimated at $100.
On Saturday, Oct. 27, John Carbaugh, of 1726 East Milwaukee Avenue, reported damage to the windshield of his vehicle while parked at his residence. Damage to the vehicle was estimated at $200.
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, an employee of Family Times, 1126 North Lake Avenue, reported the theft of a DVD from the business. The DVD is valued at $12.
On Tuesday, Oct. 23, an employee of Consumers Supply Corp., 1519 East Richland Ave., reported a burglary to the business sometime during the night of Oct. 22. Entry was gained by forcing the door open. Stolen were $120 cash and an electric meter tester valued at $20. Damage to the door was estimated at $50.
On Oct. 24, at 11:18 a.m., an accident occurred at the intersection of 9th Street and Lake Avenue. A 1988 Plymouth, driven by Savay Sonnarath of 515 Superior Street, was stopped in the middle of the intersection waiting to turn. A 1987 Ford, driven by Alejandro Almanza-Garcia, 17, of 702 West 8th Street, was proceeding through the intersection, when his vehicle struck the Sonnarath vehicle. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $2,000 for the Almanza-Garcia vehicle and $1,000 for the Sonnarath vehicle. Almanza-Garcia was charged with Failure to Stop in Clear Distance, No Insurance at Accident, and No Drivers License.
On Oct. 24 at 1:44 p.m. an accident occurred at the intersection of East 5th Street and Flindt Drive. A 1985 Plymouth, driven by Deborah Thompson, 51, of Schaller, was northbound on Flindt Drive, when an unknown vehicle pulled out in front of the Thompson vehicle, causing the Thompson vehicle to slam on its brakes. A 1987 Chevrolet, driven by Jeremy Mourlam, 16, of 6466 90th Ave, was northbound on Flindt Drive. The vehicles collided. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $800 for the Thompson vehicle and $700 for the Mourlam vehicle.
On Oct. 26, at 8:05 a.m., an accident occurred in the parking lot at IBP, 300 Flindt Drive. A 1996 Volvo, owned by Fareway Stores, Inc. of Boone, was parked in the parking lot. A 1995 PTRB, driven by James Knox, 50, of Sioux City, was attempting to exit the parking lot and struck the Fareway vehicle. Damage to the vehicles was estimated at $3,500 for the Fareway vehicle and $3,500 for the Knox vehicle.
On Oct. 27, at 2:52 p.m., an accident occurred in the Storm Lake High School teachers parking lot, 621 Tornado Drive. A 1994 Dodge, driven by Marilyn Nelsen, 50, Albert City, was entering the parking lot. A 1988 Ford, driven by Kathy Rose, 44, Pomeroy, had entered the parking lot, then backed up, not seeing the Nelsen vehicle behind her. The vehicles collided. Damage was estimated at $450 to the Nelsen vehicle and estimated at $500 to the Rose vehicle.
