SL Hy-Vee employees receive honors

Thursday, November 1, 2001

Employees from the Storm Lake Hy-Vee store were among more than 1,500 Hy-Vee employees honored for achieving service milestones in 2001.

The three Service Award recipients from Storm Lake were honored at a banquet held October 23 in Sioux Falls. Those reaching service milestones for five years of service were Donna Pittman, Sharon Iehl and Michelle Huff.

Hy-Vee Service Awards program, now in its 37th year, recognizes employees for continuous service to the company. At a series of seven banquets held throughout Hy-Vee's operating area, the company paid tribute to full-time employees reaching service milestones ranging from five to 40 years.

Employees celebrating service anniversaries receive customized gifts that increase in value as the years of service increase. In addition, their photos are published in a special souvenir book distributed to all 46,000 Hy-Vee associates.

Ron Pearson, CEO, chairman and president of Hy-Vee, offered personal congratulations and posed for a commemorative photo with each award recipient.

"This has been an award-winning year for Hy-Vee, and we're proud to recognize the outstanding men and women who have contributed to the company's success," Pearson said. "Our Service Awards program is Hy-Vee's way of thanking these employee-owners for their dedication and commitment to the Hy-Vee ideals of honesty, integrity, friendliness, caring and customer service."
