At the first planning meeting for the University of Okoboji Winter Games, another day was added to the schedule.
This year, the games will run Jan. 25 through 28.
The celebration usually runs Friday through Sunday, but this year a request was made to add another day.
"We are having a Rock 'n Roll Concert on Monday," said Doris Welle, the Iowa Rock 'n Roll Music Association's Executive Director. "We were hoping we could make the concert a part of the Winter Games."
The idea was well received and was quickly passed by the committee.
The concert will feature Paul King, an entertainer from England.
Several other additions to the Winter Games schedule were also suggested.
Last year, an unsanctioned event called the Polar Man Ice Jump was such a big hit that the committee is thinking about making it a sanctioned event this season.
But, the issue of liability must first be addressed.
Other proposed events include a go-cart race, a crazy tennis tournament at Village East and having area scouts build igloo-like snow creations.
The Lakes Art Center will also be reinstating their Chocolate Classic. There was also talk of creating an indoor food court, where people can come in and warm up.
Activities that will be omitted from the Winter Games schedule include the Art World Omelet Brunch and the Super Bowl Party.
The next planning meeting for the Winter Games will be Monday, Oct. 29, at 5:30 p.m.
