Allee museum becomes a haunted mansion
The Haunted Allee Mansion has a few new ghostly surprises in its basement and you are invited to bravely take the plunge down under to see what you might see!
Yes, there are new attractions for everyone and every age group at the Allee Mansion's "Haunted House Night." The scary fun begins at 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 27th. The Mansion is located one mile south of Newell on the Iowa State Research Farm. The "Mad Doctor" will return by popular demand and the "Scary Lady" in the upstairs bedroom is coming out of her closet just to see you. The dead body in the parlor may have a few words of wisdom to share and Dracula will greet you at the door. The headless horseman will ride again so beware as you enter the parking lot!
The basement will be reserved for the bravest of souls as something new and different awaits you! The "Baskerville Basement Village" is presently under construction and promises thrills beyond the imagination! Don't miss the fun. Refreshments will be served. Charges at the door will be $3.00 for adults, children under twelve, $1.00, and preschool free.
The Newell Historical Society has been restoring the 110-year-old Allee Mansion for the past 12 years. The Victorian style structure is perfect for a Halloween open house with a few extra surprises. All proceeds go toward this restoration project which is on the National Register of Historic Places. Mark your calendars and come join the fun.
