The Buena Vista County American Heart Walk will be held on Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Lamberti Recreation Center on the campus of Buena Vista University.
Registration is at 8 a.m. and the walk begins at 8:30 a.m.
A special award will be given to the walker raising at least $125 who is the "Most Patriotic Dressed." Walkers raising $125 will receive an American Heart Walk T-Shirt and prizes will be given to walkers who raised the following amounts:
* 3rd Place - $150 to $200 - AHW Purse Pouch
* 2nd Place - $201 to $250 - AHW Duffel Bag
* 1st Place - $251 to $300 - $50 Gift Certificate
If there is more than one winner per level, a drawing will be held.

Buena Vista Regional Medical Center will offer cholesterol screenings and blood pressure checks. Siouxland Bloodbank and the American Heart Association will offer information and brochures.
"Please join us in reaching our goal of $10,000 for fighting heart disease and stroke," Linda J. Wadedo-Jochims, Siouxland Northwest Iowa Regional Director, said. "Heart disease is the number one killer in men, women and babies. Stroke is the number three leading killer."
