Sarah Patricia "Pat" Petersen of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on Sept. 23, 2001, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City at the age of 57.
There is a visitation today after 2 p.m. at the Farber and Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City. A service will be Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at the St Paul's Lutheran Church in Sac City with burial in the Cory Grove Cemetery, Rev. Mark Selby officiating.
Sarah Patricia "Pat" Petersen was born Feb. 6, 1944, in Maskell, Neb., to Virgil and Doris (Olsen) Bishop. She was confirmed in the Zion Lutheran Church in Maskell. Pat attended school at Maskell and Obert and graduated from Kellbert High School.
On May 30, 1975, she was united in marriage to Vernon Petersen in Dakota City, Neb. They lived in Sac City where Pat worked for the Sac County Public Nursing Service. For the past nine years, Pat has worked for Sports Rehab in Storm Lake.
Pat was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Sac City. Hobbies that she enjoyed were quilting, horseback riding, hunting and fishing, and being outdoors.
Pat is survived by her husband, Vernon; daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Roger Baas of Sac City; son Bryan Swanson of Sac City; stepson, Mark Petersen of Sac City; two stepdaughters and spouses, Melody and Randy Wehner of Odessa, Missouri and Krystal and Neal Bloomquist of Lincoln, Neb.; seven grandchildren; two sisters and spouses, Delilah and Jim Cooper of Dixon, Neb., and Jeanine and Dick Stene of Beresford, South Dakota; brother-in-law, LeRoy Meyer of Newcastle, Neb.; beloved aunt and foster mother, Lovena Bobenmeyer of South Sioux City, Neb.; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, all of her grandparents, and a sister, Sharon Meyer.
