Norman Severson, 90, of Storm Lake, died September 23.
Funeral services were September 27, 11:00 a.m. at Lakeside Presbyterian Church in Storm Lake with Rev. Todd Schlitter officiating. Interment was at Buena Vista Memorial Park Cemetery, Storm Lake.
Norman was born September 14, 1911 to Fred and Josephine Severson on a farm west of Early. After his education in the Haynes Township School System, Norman entered the US Army Air Corps in 1942. He served with honor in the 78th Fighter Group, Eighth Air Force, at Duxford Air Base in England until his discharge in 1945. After his discharge from the service, Norman returned to Storm lake, and began farming on the family farm south of Storm Lake. In 1951, he married Joyce L. Mouw (Strader).
Norman is survived by his son, John F. Severson and wife Linda of Storm Lake; step-son James W. Mouw and wife Marguerite of Salem, South Carolina; three grandchildren, Shawn, Jon and Cody Severson all of Storm Lake; brother Melvin Severson of Storm Lake; broth-in-law, Raymond Mueller of Storm Lake; sister-in-laws Mavis Peterson of Storm Lake, Una Mae Strader of Storm Lake, Virgina Strader of Fort Dodge and Faye McKee of Webster City; step-children, Mark Mouw of Goldsboro, North Carolina, and Vicki Mouw; along with other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by wife, Joyce in 1996; his parents, and one sister, Genny Mueller.
