Nesbitt selected as Teacher of the Year

Brad Nesbitt, a speech and secondary English teacher at Alta High School, was named the Iowa Masonic Teacher of the Year on Friday, September 21st.

Mr. Nesbitt is a dedicated teacher that "cares very deeply for each student, and teaches each student as an individual. He is a member of the Executive Committee of the Iowa High School Speech Association, serving as the Coach at Large. He helped to start the Buena Vista Community Theater. In addition to his volunteerism in the community, he started a program in Speech Two for students to read to senior citizens.

He was nominated by Pomegranate Lodge No. 408 at Alta, and selected from nominees across the state. The award presentation was made at the annual meeting of the Masons of Iowa in Dubuque.

There are nearly 30,000 Masons in Iowa.
