An update on local and regional entertainment opportunities.

St. Mary's craft bazaar to be held

The annual St. Mary's Fall Craft Bazaar will be Saturday, Oct. 6, from 8 a.m.-3 p.m. at the St. Mary's School Gymnasium in Storm Lake.

Over 50 specially selected artists and crafters will be featured. There will also be a handmade quilt raffle and a "scrumptious" bake sale with homemade pies, specialty breads, desserts and cookies.

The bazaar is sponsored by St. Mary's Guild.

Pillowcase making course offered

Comm"UNITY" Education of Storm Lake is offering Making Novelty Pillowcase at Storm Lake High School in October.

These pillowcases are a great idea for Christmas gifts and are SIMPLE to make! Instructor Janet Strouse has made several pillowcases and is ready to show you how. This group will meet two Tuesday nights beginning October 16 from 7-9 p.m. The cost is $10 and registration deadline is October 11. Stop by the Comm"UNITY" Education Office, 419 Lake Avenue, to see two sample pillowcases and receive the list of fabric needs.

BV Pheasants Forever banquet set

Everyone is invited to attend the Buena Vista Pheasants Forever Banquet on Friday, Nov. 2, at the Alta Community Center. Doors will open at 5 p.m. There will be many raffle and auction items at the banquet. All funds raised will be used for local Buena Vista County conservation projects such as planting of native grasses and trees, conservation education, and youth hunter safety programs.
