Kathy O'Bannon, store manager for the Storm Lake Kum & Go, was the grand prize winner of the Kum & Go corporate "We Go All Out" customer service program within the 305-stote chain. Kum & Go President and CEO W.A. Krause announed the winners Tuesday.
O'Bannon received $10,000 for winning the grand prize.
The contest, which lasted between April and August, consisted of a "mystery shopper," an unidentified consumer, visiting all 300-plus stores 12 times throughout the period. The mystery shopper judged each store on a pass/fail basis with a seven-checkpoint list.
After every visit, the general manager and associate on duty were rewarded with a cash prize in the mail immediately following a passing visit. All passing scores were tabulated throughout the contest period, and winners were drawn for the grand prizes.
"Over 80 million customers will visit Kum & Go stores this year," said Krause. "We continue to strive to be the best at giving outstanding customer service and treating each customer as out guest."
The Krause Gentle Corporation, founded in 1959 by W.A. Krause and T.S. Gentle in Hampton, Iowa, consists of 305 Kum & Go stores and 19 other companies. Krause Gentle Corporation employs 3,000 associates, and the company gives back 10 percent of its profits every year to communities it serves.
