Next week, Buena Vista University will host three separate Academic and Cultural Events Series (ACES) events that are open to the public.
Bob Blank, president of Nebraskans United for Life, will discuss his organization's fight against abortion on Monday, September 24, at 7 p.m. in Anderson Auditorium.
Lorren Horton, a long-time Iowa historian, will discuss "19th Century European Immigration to Iowa" on Tuesday, September 25, at 5:30 p.m. in Room 1 of the Harold Walter Siebens Forum. Horton will lead students through a discovery of the origins of the people, the technology and occupations of Iowa.
Author Sylvia Griffth Wheeler will share South Dakota's oral history in a poetry reading on Wednesday, September 26, at 4 p.m. in the BVU Library. Her book, "Counting Back" is a collection vivid poems of human experience.
All three ACES events are free of charge, and the public is welcome to attend.
