Lincoln Jazz Orchestra, Marsalis to appear at ISU

Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis will be featured on Friday, October 5, at 7:30 p.m. at the Iowa State Center, Stephens Auditorium, Ames.

Tickets are now on sale for $37, $31, and $25; ISU students/18 and under: $19, $16, $13; $2 discount for groups of 10 or more (PFMS included).

This night of great jazz features many of today's finest soloists and ensemble players led by the accomplished artistic director of jazz at Lincoln Center. LCJO make a much anticipated return to Stephens Auditorium.

Trumpeter and composer Marsalis, who trained at the Juilliard School of Music, is the winner of eight Grammy Awards, the Pulitzer Prize for Music and Peabody Award for his National Public Radio show, Making the Music.

In concert, the LCJO performs compositions from its vast and diverse repertoire, which includes such greats as Ellington, Basie, Armstrong, Strayhorn, Mingus and many more.
