Vendors at the Clay County Fair have pledged more than $50,000 to the Clay County Regional Events Center Complex "Generations of Excitement" capital campaign.
"I have been coming to Clay County for 25 years, and I believe that the air-conditioned events center that is planned will enable the Fair to attract the next generation of visitors here for the next 25 years," Public Relations Manger Lee Ann Jones said a vendor told her.
"It is great to know that the people who come to our Fair for just nine days a year feel that they want to give back to the community, just as our own citizens do," said Ron Mills, chairman of the capital campaign. "We are so grateful for this support. We really are all in this enterprise together."
The campaign goal is to raise at least $1.5 million of the $3.8 million needed to cover all of the costs to complete the events center plan.
