The Storm Lake community has again stood up to the challenge of helping our fellow Americans after the recent terrorist attacks.
Jump For Relief is a fundraising effort by the kids of Storm Lake. Donations are being taken in special envelopes with all proceeds going to the American Red Cross to help with the relief efforts in New York City and Washington, D.C.
This is a way for the kids of Storm Lake to feel they have made a contribution in wake of our nation's tragedy. Kids that collect money are invited to share in a jumpin' good time with jump ropes and Jumpin' Jupiter at the Storm Lake Middle School on Saturday, September 29. Cards and a gigantic banner to send east will also be created. Everyone is invited to stop by to make a card. Anyone wanting more information please call 732-5711.
People who wish to donate may drop off money in front of the middle school on Saturday, Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to noon. There will be people outside with donation buckets. Donation canisters are also located at Fareway and HyVee. Please make checks payable to American Red Cross.
The schedule for Sept. 29 is ages 3 through pre-kindergarten from 10 to 10:30 a.m.; kindergarten from 10:30 to 11 a.m.; grades one and two from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; grades three and four from 12 to 1 p.m.; and middle school students from 1-2 p.m.
