Funeral Services for Rose Wattier, 100, will be held on Tuesday, September 18, at Holy Spirit Church with Fr. James Smith officiating.
Interment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Carroll. Twit Funeral Home in Carroll is in charge of the arrangements.
Rose Wattier passed away on September 15, 2001, at Carroll Health Center.
She was born on October 9, 1900 in Wall Lake to August Maystadt and Elizabeth Schwarzkopf.
She was united into marriage on September 9, 1924 to Michael A. Wattier in Wall Lake. To this union eight children were born.
She was a 50 year member of Sacred Heart Church in Early; member of Sacred Heart Guild, Grand Region of Catholic Daughters of America in Early; belonged to neighborhood Card Club in Early; and was a former member of the Catholic Daughters of America.
She farmed with her husband in Carroll County for many years and moved and farmed in Early from 1943 until moving to the Carroll Health Center in Carroll in 1990.
She attended St. Angela Academy in Carroll.
She is survived by her children, Don Wattier and wife Anne, Phoenix, Ariz., Mary Ann Sippel and husband Joe, Storm Lake, Betty Dahm Nemaha, Kathryn Dick and husband Francis, Schaller, Beverly Thiel and husband Larry, Ankeny, Michael Wattier and wife Kathy, Nemaha, Judy Havermann and husband Eugene, Carroll; one brother Henry Maystadt and wife Sally, Chicago, Ill.; 44 grandchildren, 78 great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren.
She was preceded into death by her husband Michael (1971); daughter Ruth Ann (infant); son-in-law, Leo Dahm; sisters, Margaret, Mary, Frances, Kate, and Anne; brothers, John, Tony, Joseph, and Mike Maystadt.
