Three Minnesota men arrested at SL hotel

On the evening of Tuesday, September 11, at approximately 9 p.m. the Storm Lake Police Department was dispatched to the AmeriHost Motel located at 1726 North Lake Avenue in reference to a report of the odor of marijuana coming from a room.

Officers were advised that the odor of marijuana was being detected coming from room 205. The police made contact with the occupants of the room and upon receiving consent to search the room located marijuana and other drug paraphernalia in the room. The search was conducted by the Police Department K9 Unit.

Upon locating the illegal items, police charged the following:

Trever Turner, age 22 of Adrian, Minn., was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on $2,275 cash bond.

Joseph Miller, age 19 of Worthington, Minn., was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. He was booked into the Buena Vista County Jail on $2,275 cash bond.

Robert Balsabage, age 31, of Wilmont, Minn., was charged with Frequenting a Disorderly House. He was cited and released pending a court date.
