The Pilot-Tribune, Storm Lake Chamber of Commerce and 10 top Storm Lake fashion retailers will be coming together on Thursday, September 20, for the first "Style Show on Lake Avenue."
The show will take place during the annual Thanks With Franks celebration in which local businesses grill out and offer hot dogs with a vast array of toppings to show appreciation for their local-shopping customers.
The "Style Show on Lake Avenue" will take place from 6 to 8 p.m. on a special stage to be erected on the street in the 600 block downtown. Everyone is invited to attend, free of charge. Local businesses will share their latest in fall fashions, using lots of local models of all ages.
"I think its a great idea. The Pilot-Tribune came up with the idea originally, and people are getting excited about it. We have models from the high school and college taking part, and people wanting to provide the shoes and hairstyles to complete the outfits," said veteran Storm Lake retailer Jack Graen. "It's nice that everyone is getting behind it together and doing something new for the community. I think it's going to be quite a show, and it should really draw a crowd."
Stores taking part so far include Bomgaars, Brown's Shoe Fit Co., The Buckle, Graens, JC Penney, Lake Avenue Clothing Company, Maurices, Osweilers, Sportsmans and Wal-Mart, along with LaFamme Salon.
Come down and enjoy a free hot dog and enjoy the show.
