ACCIDENTS

On September 6 at 4:28 p.m., a hit and run accident occurred in the 500 block of Lake Avenue. A 1993 Mazda, owned by Adam Feilmeier, Omaha, Neb., was parked on Lake Avenue when it was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. Damage to the Feilmeier vehicle was estimated at $500.

On September 6, at 4:28 p.m., a hit and run accident occurred in the 500 block of Lake Avenue. A 1993 Mazda, owned by Adam Feilmeier, Omaha, Neb., was parked on Lake Avenue when it was struck by an unknown vehicle which left the scene. Damage to the Feilmeier vehicle was estimated at $500.

On September 7, at 10:02 p.m., a hit and run accident occurred at the intersection of East Milwaukee Avenue and Russell Street. A 1995 Mercury, driven by Theresa Jones, 48, Manson, was eastbound on East Milwaukee Avenue, stopped for a red light. A 1998 Chevy, driven by Lori Head, 41, North Palm Beach, Fla., was stopped behind the Jones vehicle. An unknown vehicle failed to stop striking the Head vehicle in the rear. The Head vehicle then struck the rear of the Jones vehicle. Damage was estimated at $1,200 to the Jones vehicle and $500 to the Head vehicle.

On September 7, at 5 p.m. a hit and run accident occurred in the 700 block of Iowa Street. A 1986 Oldsmobile, owned by Lois Meester, Grundy Center, while parked on Iowa Street, was struck by an unknown vehicle, which left the scene. Damage to the Meester vehicle was estimated at $600.

VANDALISM

On September 4, Northwest-Watertown Monument, Storm Lake, reported three tombstones had been knocked over at their business location sometime between August 31 and September 4. There was no damage to the tombstones. Cost to lift them back onto their bases was estimated at $75.

On September 7, the scorer's box door latch was broken and padlocks were spray painted at the City of Storm Lake West 9th ball field on West 9th Street. Damage was estimated at $25.

THEFT

On September 7, Rosa Turbay, Storm Lake, had two bags of pop cans stolen from outside of her residence. Value was estimated at $3.
