Monday, September 10, 2001

The Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Auxiliary's only fundraiser, Festival of Trees, is well on its way to becoming a reality.

The Buena Vista Regional Medical Center's Auxiliary is pleased to announce this year's fundraiser chairpersons, which will consist of an Advisory Committee made up of President, Mishelle Lalone; Officers, Judy Ries, Cynde Huffman, Donna Jean Truelson, Virginia Carlson; Board Members, Michelle Grant, Jack Kooker, Melanie Schindler; Past Presidents, Grace Ivey and Marlene Massop; and Auxiliary members Marilyn Snyder and Joan Kurtz.

The Buena Vista Regional Medical Center Auxiliary's only fundraiser, Festival of Trees, is now underway! The beautifully decorated Christmas trees and wreaths will be on display starting on or before November 4th at area businesses. The Festival of Trees weekend kicks off Friday, November 16 with the Premier Dinner. On Saturday starting at 9 a.m. the doors of the KC Hall swing open and invite you to a Christmas wonderland. Festival of Trees is a spectacular holiday event for "children of all ages." Special events are planned throughout the Festival to delight young and old. Stroll through the forest of beautiful decorated trees and enjoy the splendor of the season. (Mark your calendar, Admission is FREE to the Festival of Tree events Saturday November 17, from 9:00 a.m.-4:00 p.m.)

Money raised from these events will be used towards the construction of a helicopter emergency landing pad at BVRMC. The addition of this helipad can save critical minutes in life threatening situations that may affect all of us. The community's continuous support towards Festival of Trees make these events possible and successful.

The Fundraiser project would not be possible without the support of the residents that reside in and around Buena Vista County. If you would be interested in making a financial contribution, level of giving has been established:

Angel $500 & up

Festival Sponsors $300-$499

Platinum Star Patron $200-$299

Gold Star Patron $100-$199

Silver Star Patron $50-$99

Donations can be sent to BVRMC. Auxiliary, PO Box 931, Storm Lake, IA 50588. If you would like to donate your time and talent to the Festival of Trees event, please call Jack Kooker at 732-5622.
