Anytime Fitness to host Biggest Loser weight loss challenge

Anytime Fitness, the 24-hour fitness club, is hosting a weight loss competition between area gyms over a period of 8 weeks. The arrangement of the competition is based on the popular television show, "The Biggest Loser." Participants will be competing against other Storm Lake Anytime Fitness members as well as against Anytime Fitness Members from five other Anytime Fitness clubs located in Iowa. The other gyms include: Spencer, Spirit Lake, Sioux City, Denison and Glenwood. The Competition winner will be based on the total body weight percentage lost over the eight week period.

"The goal of this event is to generate a motivational and challenging atmosphere to help maximize results for all our participants," said Jason White, owner of Anytime Fitness and orgainzer of the event. "By involving the six Anytime Fitness clubs, we show our united concern for the health of our members that belong to these clubs. The importance of health is vital and it is rewarding to make a difference for those faced with difficult times."

To participate in the Biggest Loser, you can visit any of the clubs mentioned above. There is a $20 registration fee per person to enter the competition. As an added incentive, each participant will receive a free Anytime Fitness t-shirt. The winner at each gym will receive a free three month extension on their membership. The overall winner between the gyms will win a trip for two for three nights, airfare and hotel to anywhere in the United States valued up to $1000 total. The competition will run from March 18 through May 18, 2009. Weigh-ins will be held Marc h 16 to 18.
