Music meets art in Fonda event Sunday

Get in the swing of things Sunday, March 8 from 1- 4 p.m. at the Fonda Arts Center's Music/Art Drop-in Sunday, featuring the Rockwell City-Lytton High School Jazz Band under the direction of Colleen Hecht. Local singing group the Hecht Brothers will also perform. The beauty of wood takes center stage in the art arena as Cordis Bechler of Sac City shows off his exquisitely turned bowls and other beautifully finished pieces. Hand-crafted knives will be displayed. Everyone is welcome at the Fonda Arts Center, on the northwest corner of Fourth and Main Streets in Fonda. As always, free admission, free refreshments!

SLHS Dance Squad Night features five area dance teams

Storm Lake's Dance Squad night promises to be a fast-paced and entertaining evening with five area teams performing some of their best routines of the year!

Catch the fun Tuesday, March 10 at 7 p.m. at the Storm Lake High School gym. Cost is $5 for adults and $4 for students.

The Storm Lake dancers will perform all of their routines for the year, including their award-winning State pom and hoopla performances. They are adding a father-daughter dance and a exciting coed routine finale to their repertoire for the occasion.

They will be joined by Iowa Central Community College dancers and high school teams from Storm Lake St. Mary's, Alta and Schaller-Crestland.

Tickets will be available for a raffle for 15 decorated cakes, 50 cents per ticket. The winner will also be chosen for the Storm Lake High School t-shirt quilt.
