The Gingerbread House Child Development Center, Inc., is pleased and excited to announce the hiring of a new executive director, Cheryl Nelson. Cheryl, her husband and family, moved from Frankfort, Kansas and have settled in Alta.
Cheryl began her position with Gingerbread on Feb. 9, and she will be responsible for the finances, overall day to day operations and public relations for GBH. Cheryl comes to the organization with degrees in Finance and Business Administration. Some past work experience includes administrative positions and running in-home child care. Her husband, Phillip, is the Director of Plant Operations at Buena Vista Regional Medical Center. Cheryl and Phillip have three children, Kendra, 18 years old; will be attending the Genesis Work Program in Storm Lake soon. Hannah, 10 years old; attends the 5th grade at Alta Middle School and Rebekah, eleven months old who is enrolled at Gingerbread.

We are confident that Cheryl will move this organization forward and continue to provide the stellar and quality childcare to which our community has grown accustomed and definitely deserves.
