BVU cancels first annual Winter Festival

Thursday, March 5, 2009

Due to warm weather, the first annual BVU Winter Festival has been cancelled this weekend. The festival, sponsored by Buena Vista University and the Outdoor Adventure Club, in collaboration with scouting program Venturing 103, was to consist of five events: snow golf, cross country ski races, a snowshoe obstacle course, a snow sculpture competition and broomball.

"With the projected good weather and shrinking ice levels, it is with great regret we need to cancel the Winter Festival," says Mark Kirkholm, BVU outdoor adventure club coordinator. "We have a great blueprint and will be hosting the festival next year. Thank you to everyone for their enthusiasm and support."
