Sioux Central girls come up just short in regular season finale
SIOUX RAPIDS - The Sioux Central girls' basketball team came up just shy in their final regular season game of the 2008-2009 season, falling to Rockwell City-Lytton, 46-44.
The game was knotted at eight apiece after one before the Wildcats grabbed a 22-19 edge heading into the half. The squads traded baskets the rest of the way as the Rebels dropped their second game in four days by three points or less.
Brooke Scharn led the Rebels (12-8, 10-2 in NW Conf.) with 13 points, seven rebounds and five steals. Morgan Walker chipped in with nine, and Grace Rehnstrom and Lindsay Postma each added eight apiece.
The Sioux Central girls now gear up for regional play, beginning at home Saturday night. The Rebels host Pocahontas at 7PM with the winner advancing to take on either Emmetsburg or Okoboji.
