SIOUX RAPIDS - The Sioux Central boys' basketball jumped out to a 35-10 halftime lead as they cruised at home Monday night, 68-31.
Stuart Goslinga was 13 of 15 from the field as he turned in a 30 point, 19 rebound night to lead the Rebels to their 14th win on the year. Their record now stands at 14-2 overall with a 10-2 standing in the Northwest Conference.
"We started a little flat in the first quarter," said Sioux Central head coach Chris Wildeman. "We came around in the second and played well the rest of the game."
Trevor Tiefenthaler totaled 12 points and four steals to aid the Rebel cause as Sioux Central shot an impressive 27 of 56 (48%) from the field Monday night.
The Rebels close out the regular season hosting Pocahontas Thursday night at 7PM and traveling to Clay Central-Everly Friday night at 8PM.
Sioux Central's first round opponent in district play will be Spirit Lake. The two teams did not face each other in the regular season. Tip-off from Sioux Rapids is scheduled for 7PM.
